About the Authors

John Bennett is a freelance book designer who has been involved in the publishing industry for many years. He has compiled African language textbooks for several publishers. This experience provided the impetus for the Multilingual Illustrated Dictionary when he and co-author Nthuseng Tsoeu realised there was a need for a multilingual dictionary accessible to a broad spectrum of South Africans. John’s expertise in book design proved invaluable to the creation of an illustrated dictionary that is both effective as learning tool and fun to use.

Nthuseng Tsoeu is the author of several books and runs her own tourism business. Previously she taught, was a subject advisor for the Western Cape Education Department and worked as a publisher for Juta Gariep. Nthuseng is passionate about publishing books in African languages and strongly believes that all South Africans should be able to read books in their mother tongue. From this passion was born the idea to compile a multilingual dictionary that would bridge the communication divide and help all South Africans appreciate each other’s languages.
