Podcast: Jenny Crwys-Williams Speaks to Kat and the Kings Director David Kramer

Jenny Crwys-Williams interviewed David Kramer on Radio 702 before the start of his musical Kat and the Kings which is showing in Johannesburg at the Pieter Toerien Theatre at Montecasino until 18 November.

Kramer is a South African musical icon whose fascinating life has been captured by Dawid de Villiers and Mathilda Slabbert in David Kramer: A Biography. Crwys-Williams and Kramer discussed the difference between a Cape Town audience and a Johannesburg audience and spoke about the apartheid government’s objections to Kramer’s music on the basis that he mixed languages:
