About the author

Coming from a well-known Cape family that simply loves food, Jade de Waal is passionate about cooking and all that comes with it: friends, laughter and music. Yes, music is her other great passion. She studied music at the University of Cape Town and completed her degree in December 2012.

She dreams big, and wants to study with Jamie Oliver and Reuben Riffel, to eventually open her own restaurant in South Africa.
