Podcast: Zakes Mda Discusses The Sculptors of Mapungubwe with Jenny Crwys-Williams
Zakes Mda joined Jenny Crwys-Williams in studio at Talk Radio 702 to discuss The Sculptors of Mapungubwe, its sequel and the new book he is working on. Mda told Crwys-Williams that he is living in Stellenbosch for six months and that every day he and Athol Fugard, who is also working on a novel, meet for lunch and discuss their progress. He explained that the sequel to The Sculptors of Mapungubwe, Rachel’s Blue is already written and will be published next year.
Mda says that he is currently researching and writing a novel which looks at an incident in 1880 in the Eastern Cape where one of his ancestors killed a British magistrate and was exiled to Lesotho.
