Ronelda Kamfer ontvang Jan Rabie en Marjorie Wallace-skrywersbeurs 2016

Aandag! Die gesogte Jan Rabie & Marjorie Wallace-beurs vir 2016 is aan die bekroonde digter Ronelda Kamfer toegeken. Die beurs van R380 000 stel ‘n skrywer in staat om ‘n jaar lank aan ‘n skryfprojek te wy sonder die kommer om ‘n inkomste te genereer. Die beurs word deur die Universiteit van Wes-Kaapland (UWK) geadministreer.

“Ons is trots daarop dat dit weer eens een van NB-Uitgewers se uitnemende skrywers is wat vereer word met die Jan Rabie & Marjorie Wallace-beurs en ons is saam met Ronelda Kamfer verheug dat dié eer haar te beurt geval het. Welverdiend en geluk, Ronelda!” aldus Eloise Wessels, besturende direkteur van Media24 Boeke.

Kamfer se eerste digbundel, Noudat slapende honde (Kwela), het in 2008 verskyn en haar die Eugène Marais-prys besorg. Grond/Santekraam (Kwela) het in 2011 gevolg.

Haar jongste bundel, Hammie (Kwela), verskyn op 15 Februarie 2016.

Alert! The coveted Jan Rabie & Marjorie Wallace bursary for 2016 was awarded to acclaimed poet Ronelda Kamfer. The bursary of R380 000 allows an author to dedicate a year to a writing project without having to worry about generating an income. The bursary is administrated by the University of the Western Cape (UWC).

“We are proud of the fact that it is once again one of NB Publisher’s excellent writers being honoured with the Jan Rabie & Marjorie Wallace bursary and we are delighted along with Ronelda Kamfer that this honour has been bestowed upon her. Well-deserved and congratulations, Ronelda!” said Eloise Wessels, Managing Director of Media24 Books.

Kamfer’s first poetry collection, Noudat slapende honde (Kwela), was published in 2008 and earned her the Eugène Marais Prize. Grond/Santekraam (Kwela) followed in 2011.

Her newest collection, Hammie (Kwela), is set for release on 15 February 2016.
